Performing Move with the Add-On with included WMS/Beas reservations

The following operation involves selecting lines on the Inventory Report form and performing moves with or without different reservations (WMS or Beas), enabling the filling of the Quantity field on the Perform Move form. In the Beas-WMS integration the move process is largely similar to the AdHoc Move with lock functionality on the mobile client.

Ultimately, the following results are possible: performing the move instantly or two Beas-specific endings: confirming the move with the reservation or selecting a reservation on a line (for these, or anything Beas-integration specific features, see the example). Alternatively, a lock-level specific error message is reported and the move is not performed.

The Move functionality process largely differs in terms of selecting a single or multiple line on the Inventory Report, therefore the two flows are highlighted in different sections.

For the Beas-WMS integration features to work properly, both BeasService and the Notification Listener needs to be running. For more on configuring the Notification Listener Tool, click here.

Selecting a single line to be moved on the Inventory Report involves multiple scenarios and outcomes depending on the reservation type and quantity. Overall, having WMS or no reservation eventually defaults to executing the move or reporting an error, while having Beas reservations divert to specific confirmations before executing the move. Also, moving partial quantities not only result in losing the SSCC in the process, but the process gets subdivided enabling different outcomes.

Note that for serial numbered and track located items partial move is not possible. The system will display an Error 3000295 message.

In this scenario, there is no SSCC attributed to the selected line on the Inventory Report. The outcomes are as follows:

Move entire quantity:
  1. No reservation: Move is possible
  2. WMS reservation: Error message (3000134: Items are locked) displayed (for Detail-level locking, when the Picklist is in 'Ready' status.)
  3. BEAS reservation: Warning message displayed
Move partial quantity:
  1. No reservation: Move is possible
  2. WMS reservation:
    1. locked Quantity + move Quantity larger than entire Quantity: Error message displayed
    2. locked Quantity + move Quantity equal or smaller than entire Quantity: Move is possible
  3. BEAS reservation:
    1. Single reservation for entire quantity: Warning message displayed
    2. Multiple reservations: Beas reservation selection

When an SSCC is attributed to the selected line, the SSCC will be removed when partial quantity is chosen, but kept for the entire quantity. Scenarios differ when the line shares the same SSCC with a not selected line or not. The outcomes are as follows:

No other line with the same SSCC

Move entire quantity:
  1. No reservation: Move is possible
  2. WMS reservation: Error message displayed
  3. BEAS reservation: Warning message displayed
Move partial quantity (loses SSCC):
  1. No reservation: Move is possible
  2. WMS reservation:
    1. locked Quantity + move Quantity larger than entire Quantity: Error message displayed
    2. locked Quantity + move Quantity equal or smaller than entire Quantity: Move is possible
  3. BEAS reservation:
    1. Single reservation for entire quantity: Warning message displayed
    2. Multiple reservations: Beas reservation selection

Other lines with the same SSCC

Move entire quantity: Error message displayed
Move partial quantity (loses SSCC):
  1. No reservation: Move is possible
  2. WMS reservation:
    1. locked Quantity + move Quantity larger than entire Quantity: Error message displayed
    2. locked Quantity + move Quantity equal or smaller than entire Quantity: Move is possible
  3. BEAS reservation:
    1. Single reservation for entire quantity: Warning message displayed
    2. Multiple reservations: Beas reservation selection

Overall, the outcomes derive directly from the following steps:

Perform move

  1. no reservation
  2. equal or less (WMS locked + move) quantity than available

Error

  1. larger quantity (WMS locked + move) than available
  2. entire quantity with the same SSCC on another line

Beas confirmation

  1. one (partial) Beas reservation
  2. entire quantity with Beas reservation

Select Beas reservation

  1. multiple (partial) Beas reservations

The key difference when attempting a Move with multiple lines selected on the Inventory Report as opposed to when a single one is selected is the lack of partial quantity, hence the lack of e.g. Beas reservation selection or the presence of a WMS lock resulting in an error by default.

When no other line(s) have the same SSCC than the ones selected, the outcomes are as follows:

  1. No reservation: Move is possible
  2. WMS reservation: Error message displayed
  3. BEAS reservation: Warning message displayed
  1. No reservation: Move is possible
  2. WMS reservation: Error message displayed
  3. BEAS reservation: Warning message displayed

Error

Perform move
  1. no reservation
Error
  1. WMS reservation
  2. other, not selected line(s) sharing the same SSCC
Beas confirmation
  1. Beas reservation

The Beas-WMS integration results in additional opportunities when moving logistic units with Beas reservation(s) present. The outcomes differ when single or multiple lines are selected (see above). An extra warning and a selection field is added to the Move process on the Inventory Report in case of Beas reservations.

In a single line selection, two scenarios are possible with Beas reservation(s) present:

1. Confirming the move with moving entire quantity or partial quantity with one reservation

2. Selecting reservation with multiple reservations

In each case, an existing SSCC gets dropped when partial quantity is selected.

Example:

In Beas, we see the following six, Beas-reserved batch managed items at the same location on the work order:

In WMS, we can see that there are seven total items on two different lines - one line has five of the reserved items with SSCC. On another line two do not have SSCC, but out of those two only one has a Beas reservation (as seen above):

When moving the five items with the same Beas reservations, no reservation selection is offered:

When moving the line with two items but with a Beas reservation on one of them, the selection screen is offered (For the 'No Reservation' option there is no lock on the item. 'Reserved for Wo/Pos' refers to a Beas reservation - work order and assembly number displayed). Less than full quantity can be added, therefore partial quantity move is possible.:

In this case, when 'ALL' is selected but a partial quantity is typed, the system blocks the request:

However, when the maximum available quantity is entered for the reserved unit, the system proceeds with the move:

Now we can see that in Beas, the order of the two items changed because the reserved item without SSCC was moved to the new location:

In this example, we are moving two Beas-reserved items as highlighted on the work order:

When multiple lines on the Inventory Report in WMS are selected with at least one with a Beas reservation, the system does not offer reservation selection, only a warning is sent to the user before performing the move:

After the move is executed, the new location is displayed in the Beas Work Orders once it is refreshed:
