How to Copy Data from Database to Another

The Produmex Import Tool can be used to copy elements directly from database to another.

Launch the import tool by executing Produmex.Sbo.Logex.Tools.ImportTool.exe. To define the source database, select a connection string from the Source database dropdown list. To define the destination database, select a connection string from the Destination database dropdown list.

The selected connection strings will connect the databases to the tool. After the connection string have been selected, the system displays the connected databases.

Click the Copy OSE button to copy PMX created structure elements from the Organizational Structure of the source database and import them to the destination database.

Note: If there are fixed bin locations or bin locations that can be replenished in the source database, the fixed items/items to be replenished must be exist in the destination database.

Tip:
In the case of copying large organizational structures with the Copy OSE function of the Import Tool, it is possible that the import takes longer than 10 minutes and fails due to timeout.

To avoid this issue, modify the timeout parameter in the import tool config file, and in the .net settings for the machine config as well.

1. Open the import tool config file from here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Produmex \Produmex Tools

The file name is Produmex.Sbo.Logex.Tools.ImportTool.exe.config.

Go to the appSettings and modify the transaction timeout value. The value is in hour:minute:second format. The default timeout value is 20 minutes.

2. .net setting

To set a maximum timeout, open the machine.config from here:

• 32-bit version Produmex WMS: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Config
• 64-bit version Produmex WMS: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Config

The default timeout is 10 minutes. To override the default value, add the following to the configuration section:

The maximum timeout value is in hour:minute:second format.

With the Copy Settings button the settings (PMX_PAVA) of the Source database together with the extension parameters ((PMX_EXPA) are copied into the destination database.

Click on the Get data button to get the list of quality statuses from the source database and the price lists from the destination database.

Then select the quality status from the Quality status dropdown list. Every quality status defined in the source database are listed.
Next select the price list from the ‘Pricelist’ dropdown list. Every price list existing in the destination database will be listed.

The selected quality status and price list will be applied to the stocks imported in the destination database. Press the ‘Copy Stock’ button to import the stock with the previously defined parameters from the source database to the destination database.
